STEAM
At Desert Shadows Elementary, hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) is woven into the school year through grade-specific initiatives and immersive experiences.
From quarterly projects and school-wide challenges to interactive STEAM nights and field trips, students are constantly engaged in real-world problem-solving. In addition, is the annual Career and Technical Education (CTE) Day, where Desert Shadows hosts high school programs to showcase the specialized paths available to students as they continue their Journey of Excellence within PVSchools.
The multipurpose room houses one of the only Lü systems in Arizona which is a state of the art audio visual system designed for active environments and powered by a wide range of educational applications. Lü systems include a projector, a movement detection camera and a light and sound module to create magical immersive spaces where kids learn better through physical activity.
Furthermore, Kindergarteners-6th graders compete in the District Science and Engineering Fair with winners heading to the Arizona State Science and Engineering Fair.
