STEAM

Hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) is a big emphasis at Desert Shadows throughout every school year, with special programs for each grade level. This includes quarterly STEAM projects, STEAM based field trips, STEAM assemblies, STEAM nights, a STEAM job fair, and a school-wide STEAM project.

Our multipurpose room houses one of the only Lü systems in Arizona which is a state of the art audio visual system designed for active environments and powered by a wide range of educational applications. Lü systems include a projector, a movement detection camera and a light and sound module to create magical immersive spaces where kids learn better through physical activity. We also have a Makerspace on our campus where our 3D printers are located.

Furthermore, our 5th and 6th graders compete in the District Science and Engineering Fair with winners heading to the Arizona State Science and Engineering Fair.
